For 25 years Mrs. Shore worked as a secretary for the Saint Louis Public Schools system at various school locations including more than ten years at Cleveland High School. She retired in 1987.

She moved to the Westminster retirement center in 2010. While at Westminster she was a member of the resident advisory council. She became a champion Wii bowler and enjoyed taking rides as a passenger on motorcycles during special Westminster events. She frequently attended the Jacksonville Symphony.
