Kenneth Hollsten Obituary
Kenneth R. Hollsten, age 80, Bushnell, FL, formerly of Floral City, died April 12, 2016 at Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness. Kenneth was born on February 11, 1936 in Buffalo, NY to the late Raymond J. and Pearl J. (Perkins) Hollsten. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy with 27 dedicated years of service and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. Kenneth made Citrus County his home in 1979 after moving from Orange Park and later moving to Bushnell. He was a Methodist by faith. Kenneth was a proud and active member of the Crystal River Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla #15. Those left to mourn his passing are his loving wife of 16 years, Lee Hollsten. Kenneth is also survived by his son: Daniel R. Hollsten and his wife Renita of Deland, FL; three daughters: Laura H. Brenneis and her husband David of Bushnell, FL, Debora M. Taylor and her husband Michael of Orange Park, FL, and Susan A. Roberts of Dallas, TX; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Kenneth was preceded in death by his son, David Kenneth Hollsten, his sister, Joan Miller, and first wife, Laura.
A funeral service will be held for Kenneth on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness with Pastor Jerry Carris of the Hernano United Methodist Church officiating. Military honors will follow rendered by Inverness VFW Post #4337 Honor Guard and the Crystal River Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla #15. The family will receive friends in visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Following cremation, Kenneth's urn will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell at a later date. Arrangements under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
