LaFetra Wolters Ramey Obituary
LaFetra Wolters Ramey, age 91, of Ozello, FL, joined the Church Triumphant on December 29, 2015. The beloved daughter of LaFayette and Margaret May was born in Earle, Arkansas on April 4, 1924. LaFetra graduated from Blytheville High School in Arkansas at the age of 16, went to Southeast Missouri State, graduating at age 19 and continuing her education at the University of Tennessee Medical School in Memphis.
LaFetra married Hines Wolters on March 13, 1945. LaFetra and Hines lived in LaJolla, California; Wichita, Kansas; Caraway, Arkansas; Birmingham and Montgomery, Alabama; Tampa, Florida; Fort Worth and Austin, Texas; Destin and Lynn Haven, Florida. Hines passed away in 1976. LaFetra married Dr. Dan Ramey in 1980 and relocated to Greensboro, Alabama. She moved to Ozello, Florida after Dan's death in 2002.
LaFetra is survived by her daughter, Cherise Dyke (David); son, Duston Wolters (Charise); grandchildren, Casey Holley (Trapper), Dee Vicino, Ben Wolters (Yaritza), and Landin Wolters; great grandchildren, David, Breanna and Dillan Holley, Shelby and Hanna Vicino and Blake Wolters.
LaFetra made many friends along the way, on the golf courses and at the bridge tables of the many places she lived. LaFetra will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her smile lit up the room and kind spirit was a gift to all who knew her. LaFetra will be memorialized in a private service.
Private cremation will take place under the direction of Brown Funeral Home and Crematory in Lecanto, FL. In lieu of flowers, please remember LaFetra with gifts to Hospice of Citrus County or to the First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville, Florida.
