Lorraine L. Lech, 87, Lecanto, Fla., passed away Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at Citrus Memorial Hospital. She was born Nov. 15, 1926, in Manhattan, N.Y, to the late John and Lydia (Huebsher) Amsler. She grew up in Manhattan, N.Y., and graduated from Julia-Richmond High School.
Lorraine studied ballet and modeling in New York when she met her husband, Alfred L Bradley, and they formed the professional dance team of "Fred and Lorraine." They traveled world-wide and entertained on numerous world cruises and Caribbean Resorts. In the off-season, they worked for the USO aboard numerous U.S. Naval ships world-wide. They also professionally danced and resided for several years in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. After returning to New York, Lorraine worked as a corporate travel agent and later in the advertising industry.
She later married Joseph P. Lech in 1975 and resided in Mamaroneck, N.Y., and then Toms River, N.J. Lorraine retired to Crystal River, Fla., in 1988 and was an active member of St. Timothy's Lutheran Church where she enjoyed volunteering and participating in numerous church affairs. Lorraine enjoyed crafts, gardening, traveling, and volunteer work.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Alfred; and also by her loving husband, Joseph, in 2008; her parents; her brother and wife, George and Muriel Amsler; her brotherl John Amsler; her nephews, John and George Amsler; her great-grandson, Anthony Rippolone; and recently by her son, Alfred S. Bradley. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Suzanne Orsogna and her husband Mario of Edison, N.J., and Andrea Mitchell and her husband Larry of Crystal River; step-sons, Joseph Lech of Yonkers, N.Y., and Douglas Lech of California; grandchildren, Wendy, Raymond, Joseph, Christopher, Patricia, Jennifer, Larry, Regina, and Marisa; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces.
Cremation arrangements are by the National Cremation Society of Hudson. Memorial services for Lorraine will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at St Timothy's Lutheran Church, 1070 N. Suncoast Blvd., Crystal River, Pastor David Bradford officiating. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the LifeCare Center of Citrus County Activities Center, 3325 Jerwayne Lane, Lecanto, FL 34461. The family would also like to thank the staff of LifeCare for their excellent care and compassion of their mother through the years.
