Lucille Elkins, 91, of Crystal River, Florida, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 20, 2014. She was a longtime resident of North Georgia before moving to Florida. She was of Baptist faith. Interment was in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.
Mrs. Elkins was born in Fort Payne, Alabama, on June 30, 1922. The daughter of the late William Henry and Emma Agnes O'Shields Wooten, she was preceded in death by her husband Edward Earl Elkins and her seven siblings. Survivors are her two daughters, Joy (Eddie) Wilson and Carolyn James Rabun, both of Crystal River, Florida; one son, Michael C. Whitthorne of Kingston, Oklahoma; and one sister, Inez Uhl of Mount Olive, Alabama. She had eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the home in Dunnellon, Florida.
