Malcolm "Mike" Zoellner Obituary
Malcolm "Mike" Zoellner, age 90, of Lecanto, FL, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2016. Mike was born on November 13, 1925 in Highlands, NC to the late Carl and Nellie (Reese) Zoellner. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy and was a World War II Veteran. Mike moved to Chassahowitzka, FL in 1946. On September 12, 1981 he married Carole Poole, with whom he shared 34 wonderful years of marriage. A Christian by faith in Jesus Christ, Mike was a member of the Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church.
He was a Master Carpenter and was in charge of maintenance for the Highlands, NC Country Club for 23 years. In addition to his carpentry skills, he was an excellent fisherman and was a commercial fishing guide for twenty-plus years. In addition to his loving wife, those left to mourn his passing and cherish his precious memory are his daughters: Patricia (Dennis) Damato of Hernando, FL, Charlene (Butch) Mire of Crystal River, FL, Sherry (Denny) Allen of Pine Ridge, FL and Shirley Ann (Jimmy) Edwards of Crystal River, FL; his sister, Barbara Gomez of Springfield, MO; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Julian Zoellner, Henry Zoellner and Richard Zoellner. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church, Lecanto, FL with Pastor Ray Cortese officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mike's memory to the Seven Rivers Christian School, Lecanto, FL or Hospice of Citrus County. Arrangements under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
