Mrs. Marlene (Platt) Noles Obituary
The Service of Remembrance for Mrs. Marlene Platt Noles, age 85, of Inverness, Florida, will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the Inverness Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes with Pastor Gordon Condit officiating. Inurnment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
Marlene was a native Floridian born August 22, 1931, in Plant City, FL, daughter of Marshall Clifton and Vedah Hartline Platt, and grew up in Plant City. She died April 14, 2017 in Inverness, Florida. She was a graduate of Plant City High School, where she met her high school sweet heart (Charles), whom she later married. They were happily married for 65 years. Charles joined the Air Force and Marlene became an officer's wife. She was very active in the officers' wives clubs and enjoyed moving to new locations and meeting new people. She was an avid writer. Marlene was an accomplished artist, and also enjoyed sewing and reupholstering furniture. She loved to travel, visiting nearly all of the continental United States, Mexico, and many European countries. When Charles retired she devotedly accompanied him as he followed his dream of becoming a rancher. Marlene also spent many years volunteering at Inverness Primary School in the 1st and 2ndgrade classrooms. She lovingly raised her two children whom she always encouraged and inspired to follow their dreams.
Mrs. Noles was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister, Helen Platt Cromley, and two brothers, Marshall Norman Platt, and Clifton Loren Platt.
Survivors include her son, Dr. Charles Steven Noles and wife Sharon Ball Noles, daughter, Elaine Susan Noles Vilchez-Herrador and husband Manuel Vilchez-Herrador, all of Inverness, FL; surviving brother-in-law, Dr. Richard Kenneth Noles, sister-in-law, Patti Noles; 5 grandchildren, Dr. Elis Victoria Vilchez-Herrador Brashear and husband Jesse Earl Brashear, David Phillip Vilchez-Herrador, Dr. Natasha Marie Vilchez-Herrador, Craig Scott Noles, Steven Michael Noles and wife Nini Noles, 3 great grandchildren, Lydia Anne Brashear, Sebastian Charles Brashear, and Isaac Walter Brashear.
