Murrel P. Haydon, age 91, of Ocala, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013.

She was born on April 7, 1922, in Cogar, Okla., a daughter to the late Bessie and Walter Pinkston. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Earl Haydon; two sisters, Rose Palmer and Audrey Eden; and two brothers, Ira and Jay C. Pinkston.
Murrel was retired from Lockheed Martin in Orlando, Fla., after 30 years of service. She moved to Ocala to be close to her family in 1982. She was a devoted Christian and a member of the Ocala Christian Church. She leaves behind her loving family: daughter, Patricia Haydon of Ocala; two sons, Dick (Nancy) Haydon of Lecanto, Fla., and Jon (Brenda) Haydon, of Anthony, Fla.; one sister, Flo Pinkston, Ocala; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation has been scheduled from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, also at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Ocala Christian Church Building Fund, 3201 N.E. 25th Ave, Ocala, FL 34479.
