Nancy Carrol Hershberger Obituary
Nancy Carrol Hershberger, age 77, of Hernando, FL, passed away September 27, 2015 at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, FL.
Born on December 23, 1937 in Milverton, Canada to Milton and Edna (Brenneman) Steckley. Nancy moved to the U.S. with her parents in 1956 and to Citrus County in 2000 from Goshen, IN. She was a retired Bookkeeper for General Motors; a member of the Moose Lodge #836 in Goshen, IN where she held all chair positions; a member of the VFW #10087 of Beverly Hills, FL; American Legion Post #155 of Crystal River, FL; and she was a member of the United Church of Christ in Ocala, FL.
Survived by her husband of 56 years, Daniel L. Hershberger; two sons, Kerry L. Hershberger of Edwardsburg, Michigan, and his former wife, Connie Hershberger from Granger, Indiana; Daniel L Hershberger, II and his partner, Cindy Breiler of Osceola, Indiana; one brother, James R. and his wife, Diane Steckley of Lake Placid, Florida; four grandchildren, Mellissa Hershberger of Orlando, Florida, Keri Lynn (Hershberger) and her husband Lee Keasal of Columbus, Ohio, Heather Hershberger of Glendale, Caliornia and Kris and wife Amber (Baker) Hershberger of Elkhart, Indiana; two great-grandchildren, Cohen (6) and Brody (4).
We would like to thank everyone who included Nancy on their prayer lists at the United Church of Christ of Ocala, FL. Our deepest appreciation for all the care she received at the Florida Cancer Specialists in Lecanto, especially Dr. V. Upender Rao.
Private cremation will take place under the direction of Brown Funeral Home and Crematory in Lecanto, FL. Family will be receiving friends on Friday, October 2, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home and Crematory in Lecanto, FL. Burial will be at a later date at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Beverly Hills VFW.
