Ray was many things and had numerous accomplishments throughout his life. As a U.S. Marine his served his country with distinction as part of the celebrated Drum and Bugle Corps during the time of the Korean Conflict. Later in his life he became a Master Welder as a member of the boilermaker's union, with certifications in nuclear and elevated excavation work. He worked for many years for Florida Power before his retirement in 1995.
His life is marked by his great faith in Christ, his steadfast devotion to prayer and his dedication to the Crystal River Men's prayer breakfast which has been in attendance in Citrus County for over 80 years.
His commitments to his wife, children and grandchildren are a testament to the nature of his willingness to sacrifice for his family over his long and rich life, he remains sorely missed.
