Richard J. "Papa" "Red" Mauller, 76, Inverness, died Nov. 17, 2012, surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Hospice of Citrus County.

Richard was born May 10, 1936, in Roseville, Ohio, to the late Eugene and Esther (Shipley) Ackley. He served our country in the U.S. Air Force, retiring with a rank of technical sergeant as a missile technician. Richard enjoyed fishing, playing bingo and going to Biloxi. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 52 years, Betty Mauller; his daughter Debbie (Larry) Pontius and sons Richard (Maurita) Mauller and James (Susan) Mauller, all of Inverness, Patrick (Lillian) Mauller, Belleville, Ill., and Christopher (Brenda Jo) Mauller, Jacksonville, Fla.; his brother Victor (Rosanna) Ackley, sisters Edith Nicolson and Peggy (Sam) Cornelius, all of Ohio; six grandchildren, Melissa, Scott, Heather, Nikki, Crystal, Mandee; and four great-grandchildren, Drake, Abigail, Kylie and Aryanna; as well as extended family Taylor, Colton, Logan, Julien; and many dear friends.
A celebration of Richard's life will start with the visitation from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012 from Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Burial will follow with military honors at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Citrus County, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464.
