Robert B. Beamer Feb 11, 1927 - June 1, 2017.
Robert B. Beamer, 90, formerly of Bel Air, MD, passed away peacefully at Hospice House of Citrus County on June 1, 2017 after a lengthy illness. There will be a Celebration of Life at the Eugene Quinn VFW Post #4337, 906 HWY 44 East, Inverness, FL, 34450, on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.
Robert is survived by Marie, his loving wife of 67 years; son Robert Lee Beamer (LTC, USA, Ret), and wife Penney Ann Beamer (LTC, USA, Ret); and daughter Deborah L. Odle and husband Charles W. Odle. Also, a granddaughter, Nicole, and great-grandson, Alfredo. Robert will be remembered by many other relatives and friends.
Robert was drafted and served in the Army in Italy during the latter part of WWII. He trained in artillery as a cannoneer, but most of his war stories were about MP duty. One could say that he enjoyed his time in Italy. Robert returned home and became a tool and dye machinist and inspector for Koppers, Inc. in Glen Arm, MD for 43 years. After retiring to Florida, Robert worked at Walmart in Sporting Goods. He loved fishing, playing pool, a few good buddies, and his little dog, Buster.
Donations to Hospice of Citrus County will be considered an honor.
