Robert Osman Burke, 83, Floral City, died Nov. 21, 2012, in the Citrus County Hospice Unit in Citrus Memorial hospital.
A native of Alva, Fla., he was born Aug. 23, 1929, to the late Robert and Theo (Blackburn) Burke and came to Citrus County in 1969 from Ocala. Bob was a retired ranch manager and member of the New Testament Baptist Church of Floral City. He served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict.
He leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Barbara Love Burke, of Floral City; four sons, Frank Burke, Clearwater, Mark Burke, Floral City, Michael (Sebrina) Burke, Marianna, Fla., and Noah Burke, Brooksville; daughter-in-law, Sherrie Burke, Pinellas Park; three sisters, Margaret Kontour, Deer Trail, Colo., Addie Keen, Colton, Wash., and Billy Stevenson, Ocala; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Wayne Burke, in 1990, and his brother, Russell.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, from New Testament Baptist Church with the Rev. Ledford Hodges and the Rev. Clarence Helms officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Cemetery, Holder, Fla. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until hour of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials requested to New Testament Baptist Church Missionary Fund.
