Ruth E. LaGrow, 89, of Hernando, FL, passed away on November 20, 2012, after a long struggle with cancer under the loving care of her daughter and son-in-law and HPH Hospice. Ruth was born May 20, 1923, in Burlington, VT, the daughter of Wilson and Edna (Carpenter) Jackson. She graduated from Burlington (Edmunds) High School in 1941 where she met her husband, Hugh LaGrow, who predeceased her in 2009. They were married November 12, 1942, in St. Louis, MO. Ruth held various part-time jobs while her family was growing up and providing a home for her mother. She retired in 1985 as Office Manager of the United Church of Christ in Burlington, VT. Ruth and Hugh moved to Florida in the fall of that year.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gayle and Stanley Lane of Charlotte, VT; her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Cindy LaGrow of Williston, VT; her sister, Bette Ray, Essex Jct. VT; in-laws, Dorothy Jackson of Summerfield, FL; Cliff and Jean LaGrow, Ocala, FL; Joyce and Marcel Lapierre, So. Burlington, VT; Carol and Wayne (Pat) Broughton, Middlebury, VT; 7 grandchildren, Gary and Virginia Lane; Chad Dion and wife Becky; Toby Dion; Danielle Dion and Alex Del Angel; Vicky Cross and husband David; and Benjamin LaGrow; 6 great -grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Lawrence, Charles, Lucius (Jack) and Richard Jackson; sister, Helen Cassidy.
Burial and graveside service will be held in the spring at Lakeview Cemetery in Burlington, VT. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to HPH Hospice, 3545 N Lecanto Hwy. Beverly Hills, FL 34465. We appreciate the wonderful care provided by HPH Hospice. Ruth loved each and every one of her caregivers.
