Sandra Muriel "Sandie" (Jessup) Warren Obituary
Sandra ("Sandie") Muriel Jessup Warren, of Homosassa, went to be with the Lord Sunday, March 19th at the age of 75 after a prolonged illness. She was surrounded by her family, who wish to extend their gratitude to the physicians and nurses in Tampa General Hospital's Medical ICU for their care and effort.
Sandie was born June 3, 1941 in Suffern, New York to the late Allen Stansbury Jessup and Muriel Edith Goodday Jessup.
She was a graduate of Spring Valley High where she was an aspiring thespian, often landing lead roles in drama club productions. Sandie spent most of her adult life in the New York Tri-State area. She lived and raised her family for many years in Connecticut, where she worked as a personal lines underwriting manager for several insurers in the Hartford area. Upon retirement, she moved south to the warmer climate of sunny Florida.
Retirement by no means meant a slower pace for Sandie!
Anyone who knew her can testify to her compassionate personality which was demonstrated by her commitment to philanthropic work. Sandie treasured her faith and was a contributing parishioner at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Crystal River where she was a member of The Altar Guild and other leadership committees; taking great pride to co-chair The World's Greatest Baby Shower. In addition, Sandie devoted her time and energy to several other community and charitable organizations including: Faith Circle, WELCA, The Women of Sugar Mill Woods and PEO. An avid reader, she sought out book clubs wherever she was living. Above all else, Sandie loved the time spent with her family and friends.
Sandie is survived by her husband of 45 years Lawrence, her sister Jacqueline Cole of Travelers Rest, South Carolina and her brother Allen Jessup of Wallkill, New York. In addition, Sandra is survived by four children. Scott Warren and his wife Cindy of Southington, Connecticut, Lawrence Warren of Liverpool, England, Nancy ("Sam") Wildey and her husband Joe of Queensbury, New York and William Warren and his wife Deborah of Brooklyn, New York. She was the loving grandmother of Joe, Katie and Dennis and two great-grandsons, Landon and Jack.
Calling hours will be Friday, March 24th from 2 to 4pm and again from 6 until 8pm at the Wilder Funeral Home, 4890 South Suncoast Blvd., Homosassa, FL. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 25th at 1pm at St. Timothy's Lutheran Church, 1070 N. Suncoast Blvd, Crystal River, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family is establishing a memorial fund to support her beloved charities, especially The World's Greatest Baby Shower. Information for donations can be found at
