Sanford Henry "Sanny" Condon Obituary
Sanford Henry Condon, peacefully passed away into the loving arms of his Father on his 95th birthday, June 12, 2017. He was surrounded by his family at Hospice House of Citrus and The Nature Coast.
Sanford, known as "Sanny" by his neighbors and friends, was born in Parker, IN on June 12, 1922. He worked in Auburn, IN at Warner Gear which later became Borg Warner,
beginning as a minimum-wage employee and retiring in 1987 as Plant Manager of Quality Control. Upon his retirement, he moved to Inverness to enjoy golf
and time with his family. He was also able to travel to England, Arizona, Alaska, New York, Holland, Canada, Panama and Colorado and took numerous cruises.
Sanford was a thirty-second degree Mason and a member of the Elks, the First United Methodist Church of Inverness and Point O' Woods Golf Club. He loved to golf, do yard work and watch the Gators and the Tampa Bay Rays. There are not enough adjectives to describe his amazing character, but suffice it to say he was kind, generous, humorous, patriotic and well liked by all who knew him.
Sanford was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Helen Condon, his sister, Mary Jerrell, his brothers, Thomas and Cappy and his wife, Mary Jane. Sanford is
survived by his two daughters, Wendy Hall and Sandra Slick as well as Wendy's husband, Gaston Hall. He has 3 grandsons, Adam Hapner, Bryan Slick, and Gregory Slick. He has a nephew, Chris Condon. Sanford has eleven great grandchildren and
two great-great grandchildren. "Sanny" will truly be missed by his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, "Sanny" would appreciate contributions to the First United Methodist Church, 1140 Turner Camp Road, Inverness, FL 34453. Interment will be by his wife in Auburn, IN at a later time. Friends may call in visitation on Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 3:00 PM until the Celebration of Life Service at 4:00 PM from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home of Inverness, with Rev. Sarah Campbell, officiating. A Masonic service will follow, conducted by Masonic Memorial Lodge #119.
