Sharon "Sherry" Lynn Durham died peacefully in her sleep at Joyce Goldenberg Residence on Monday, February 27, 2017 in Pensacola, FL at the age of 74.
Sherry was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Durham of Crystal River, FL.
She is survived by her sister, Diane Buffington-Rizzo and her husband, Don Rizzo of Atlanta, GA. Sherry also leaves behind her daughter, Terry Dazet and husband, Steve of Pensacola and her son, Bob Gravlee and his wife, Lisa of Atlanta, GA and her grandchildren, Dayton, Kristen and Nathan.
Sherry was born on August 10, 1942 in St. Paul, MN to Victor C. Sorensen and Catherine A. Shebesta. She was first married to Tom Gravlee for 20 years and then to Clayton Durham for 28 years. After moving to Crystal River from Ocala, FL she worked as a children's librarian for the Citrus County Library System for over 25 years, initially at the Beverly Hills branch and then later at the Crystal River branch. During her tenure, she became well known in the community for her imaginative and engaging book-buddies program, delighting children of all ages with her read along presentations. Sherry and her children's' programs were the focus of a short featurette on the local television news.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Harper- Morris Memorial Chapel. Fr. Paul Moody of St. Paul Catholic Church will officiate.
