Stanton Michael "Mike" Daries Obituary
The Service of Remembrance for Mr. Stanton "Mike" Michael Daries, age 63, of Hernando, Florida, will be held 7:00 PM, Friday, December 4, 2015 at the Beverly Hills Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until the time of the service at the chapel. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.HooperFuneralHome.com.
Mike was born March 26, 1952 in Los Angeles, CA, son of Stanton and Virginia (Gray) Daries. He passed away November 30, 2015 at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL. In 2003, he moved to Hernando from New Port Richey. He loved his beautiful wife, Georgia, his family and friends, and his dogs Max and Cleo. Mike also loved Colorado, the mountains, fly fishing, and was an avid sports fan, particularly of the Denver Broncos. As the owner of Summit Highlands Construction, he worked as a General Contractor and was passionate about building "homes" for his clients, not just houses and built tens of thousands of homes in Florida and Colorado. The relationships that he developed with the subcontractors, homeowners, the community and government officials went far beyond the personal level. They became family and many are mourning his death.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Stanton Gordon Daries and a brother, Stephen Daries. Survivors include his wife, Georgia Daries of Hernando, 2 sons, Stanton Daries, II [Jessie] of Durham, NC and Joseph Daries [Nell] of Denver, CO, 2 daughters, Christy Perry [Jason] of Longwood, FL and Kelley Cochran [Christopher] of Denver, CO, step-son, Anthony Basso [Paula] of Murfreesboro, TN, his mother, Virginia Daries and brother, Gregory Daries, both of Colorado Springs, CO, 4 sisters, Pamela Dunne [William] of Keswick, VA, Cindy Bills [Robert] of Indian Land, SC, Cecilia Will [Randolph] of Colorado Springs, CO and Michelle Decker of Tucson, AZ and 5 grandchildren, Alec, Jade, Zen, Ethan and Mason. He will be missed and in our hearts forever.
