Terrence (Terry) Knox left for heaven on August 29, 2017. He was born to Earl and Laverne on September 26, 1938. Terry was a Petty Officer in the Navy working as a Machinist Mate, and served most of his Naval career on the USS Bainbridge, the first nuclear ship. He married Hazel in the Navy in 1964, and they had four children together. He left the Navy to have the family together, and joined his father in the air conditioning business before spending 22 years at Florida Power and Light in a nuclear power plant at Turkey Point in Homestead, Florida. Terrence retired from FP&L in 1992 and moved to Homosassa, Florida.
Terrence was a very active member in the Catholic Church serving in many capacities before and during his 30 years as a Deacon beginning in 1985. He served at Sacred Heart Church in Homestead until 1992 and St. Scholastica Parish in Lecanto until retiring in 2015.
Survivors include his children: Erin Marie Kramer and her fiancee' Richard Cusick, Rev. Sean Vincent Knox, Brian Patrick Knox, and Terri-Lynn Gregg and her husband Lt. Col. Scott Gregg; siblings: Dennis Knox and his wife Lorraine "Cookie", and Maureen Knapp and her husband Lorren; grandchildren: Jeffery, Justin, Sarah, Phillip, Joseph, Angie and Allison; great-grandchildren: Gavin, Caiden, Samantha, Aryea, Cael, Lucas and Gabriel; his nieces and nephews Lori, Kristin, Carol, Judy, Jackie, Tony, Fred, Honor, and Heather.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years Hazel Jane Knox; parents Earl "Lefty" and Laverne Knox; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Joyce Brown and their son, Joey, and most recently great-grandsons Garrett and Gabien.
The family will receive friends 4-7PM on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach where a Prayer service will begin at 6PM.
A Mass will be celebrated at 10:00AM Saturday, September 9, 2017 at St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
Interment with military honors will be held 11:30AM on Monday September 11, 2017 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. www.strunkfuneral home.com.
