Thelma McNally Kinter, formerly of Lemoyne, Pennsylvania and Beverly Hills, Florida, died Monday March 27, 2017 at Masonic Village Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. She was 96. Mrs. Kinter was born in Harrisburg on October 22, 1920 to Samuel H. and Della Shumaker McNally.
Mrs. Kinter grew up in Wormleysburg, Pennsylvania and graduated from Lemoyne High School in 1938. Following graduation, she attended Central Penn Business College. She worked as an executive secretary for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board and retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Resources.
In Lemoyne, Mrs. Kinter was a member of the Junior and Senior Civic Clubs and the Washington Heights Elementary PTA, serving as President of all three organizations. She was also active in local Girl Scouts.
She married Francis E. Kinter in 1945. In 1997 they moved to Florida, where they were both involved in local community and church activities.
Mrs. Kinter was predeceased by her husband of 66 years in 2012 and by her two sisters, Miriam Torrey and Joanne Reed. She is survived by her daughters Stephanie Traub, of Briarcliff Manor, NY, (Dr. Roger Traub) and Kimberly Rose, of Elkins Park, PA (Robert Rose), four grandchildren, Dr. Matthew Traub (Dr. Caroline O'Meara), Garrett Traub (Stephanie Traub), Rebecca Rose, Emily Rose and one great grandchild, Isaac Traub, as well as two nieces and a nephew.
Services have not yet been scheduled. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Congregational Church, 9220 N. Citrus Springs Blvd., Citrus Springs, FL 34433.
