Theodore (Ted) Goeller, 95, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at his home with his children by his side. He was born February 14, 1921 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Theodore and Jane Doughty Goeller. Ted was the first of nine children. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Margaret (Peggy) Goeller of 59 years, who passed away in 2007. He is survived by his three sisters; Jane Cory of Maryland, Margie Standen and Doris Mooney of Pennsylvania, three children and their spouses, Ronald and Madie Goeller of Indianapolis, Indiana, Thomas and Jane Goeller of Mason Neck, Virginia, and Lisa and Ken Lovelace of Gainesville, Florida, ten grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Ted is well known in local art circles as an initial member of the Citrus Water Color Society and the Art League. A World War II Veteran, Ted was placed in Army Intelligence that led to his Cartography career with the Central Intelligence Agency. During his tenure with the Agency, he was responsible for meeting the Director of Central Intelligence requirements for graphics in his presentations within the Agency, to the White House, and to Congress.
Ted enjoyed working with art students and for over seven years taught for Fairfax County Virginia Adult Education. Upon his retirement and move to Homosassa, he taught many courses for local schools. During the 1980's he did the fishing art for Russ Fee's "Outdoor in West Central Florida" Chronicle articles. He also enjoyed doing the framing at the local Homosassa Frame Shop until it closed a few years ago.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, and Wilde Funeral Home Parkesburg, Pennsylvania.
