Thomas J. Truty, 72, passed away Friday, Feb. 14, 2014. Tom was born Sept. 26, 1941, to Frank and Mary Truty in Chicago, Ill. He lived in Naperville, Ill., for 13 years before coming to Homosassa, Fla., in 1998. He worked for the Quaker Oats Company for 33 years, retiring as manager, Corporate Strategic and Financial Planning. He graduated from DePaul University with a Bachelor of Science and later received an M.B.A. in Finance from Loyola University. He was a member of the West Citrus Elks Lodge #2693 in Homosassa Springs. Tom enjoyed playing golf and was a member of Sugarmill and Southern Woods C.C. He did extensive travel both here (visited all 50 states) and abroad. He was a man that totally enjoyed life in general with family and friends. He enjoyed a good time and was fun to be with, and will be truly missed.
He was married to his friend and loving wife, Margie, for 28 years. Besides his wife, other surviving family members include his brother, Richard (Janice) Truty, Schaumburg, Ill.; and nephew, Ken (Lisa) Truty of Lisle, Ill.
A private memorial service was at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, Feb. 19, 2014. Memorial contributions may be made to the or the EMS Nature Coast.
