Vival "Vi" Ingraham Jr. of North Citrus Avenue, Crystal River, died peacefully at his home on November 19, 2015. He was the loving son of the late Vival and Hazel Ingraham. Born in Norwood, MA, he was a graduate of Westwood High School. A veteran of the Korean War, Vival served in the Air Force, stationed in Hawaii, where he married his wife of 43 years, Blair.
After leaving the service, he settled in Norfolk, MA, where he raised his family. He was the owner of Ingraham Construction until he moved to Crystal River. Vi was a mentor to many, teaching hard work, integrity and life lessons to all. He enjoyed passing these virtues to all he employed. Although retired, he continued to work, sharing his knowledge to all whom he met. Never taking a day off, Vi worked until the day he took ill.
He was always involved in his children's passions, making them his own. He attended horse shows and motocross events throughout the years. He also was an avid fan of NASCAR, motorcycles and in buying and repairing old equipment.
He is survived by his loving children, Susan and her husband Carl Mitchell of Crystal River (formerly from North Attleboro, MA), and Vival Ingraham III of Crystal River. He was the grandfather of five, and soon was to become a great-grandfather. He was the dear brother of Lynne Gaw of Gainesville, FL, Marlene Craig of Crystal River, FL, and of the late George "Buddy" Ingraham. He was predeceased by his wife, Blair Meyer Ingraham, and Helen Durling Ingraham.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life at his residence, 9971 North Citrus Avenue, Crystal River, Florida on December 20, 2015 at 2 p.m. Burial will be at the Highland Cemetery, Dover, MA at a later date.
Donations in his memory may be made to Hospice of Citrus County, 8471 West Periwinkle Lane, Homosassa, FL 34446.
