Wanda Maria Linary Obituary
Wanda Maria Linary, 68, Inverness, died Aug. 28, 2015, at home while under the loving care of her family. Wanda was born July 7, 1947, to the late Peter and Janina Haba. Peter was a POW during World War II until liberated by the American Army. He left the Polish Army to join and fight for the American Army. After the war, he brought his family to the U.S. through the Port of New Orleans and then settled in New York City where Wanda was raised in the Bronx.
After marrying her teenage sweetheart, they relocated to the Catskill Mountains to raise their three children. Wanda lived in that same home for 42 years and was employed as a toll collector for the New York State Thruway Authority for over 22 years. In 2010, she became a United States citizen, which was a very proud moment in her life. Wanda moved to Inverness in January 2012 to be close to family. She was an avid book reader, enjoyed playing games on her computer, doing crafts, shopping at Walmart and eating out.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 50 years, Michael Linary; her children Lucille Linary, Elkridge, Maryland, Vincent Linary, Hudson, New York, and Diana Linary (husband Michael Schommer), Inverness; and three grandchildren, Janina Rose, Vincent Jr. and Victor.
Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory is assisting the family with private arrangements.
