Wendell Dale Stevens (Pa) 90, passed peacefully in his sleep to be with his Savior and wife Cecil Audrey on December 30, 2015, with his dog Sy at his side. He was born October 10, 1925 in Adrian Michigan and spent most of his life in Largo, Florida. Wendell was preceded in death by his wife Cecil Audrey Stevens, his Mother Ena Mae Stevens, Father Walter Alva Stevens, Brother Richard Stevens, and Brother Robert Stevens.
He is survived by three sons, Roger Dale Stevens, Michael Duane Stevens, Mark Douglas Stevens, three daughters in law, Christine Ann Stevens, Patricia Lynn Stevens, Debra Lee Stevens, nine grand children, sixteen great grand children and three great great grandchildren. He was an Army World War II combat veteran specializing in communications. He earned a living as an auto mechanic and Tampa Tribune newspaper deliveryman. He later taught auto mechanic skills at Pinellas Vocational Technical Institute in Largo, Florida.
Wendell's hobbies included travelling, woodworking, auto repair and flying. In honor of Wendell's wishes, he was cremated and will be interred with his wife at the Florida National Cemetery located in Bushnell, Florida in a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor directly to the: Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th fl., New York, NY 10001.
