Wilburn 'Wiggy' Carpenter, age 86, Hamilton, Ohio, died Saturday, October 29, 2016 in Hospice of Hamilton. He was born March 2, 1930 in Hamilton the son of James and Myrtle Ethel (Whited) Carpenter. He was a 1948 graduate of Hamilton High School and a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving from January 11, 1952 to January 10, 1954. He married Janet Vitale on February 25, 1950 in Newport, Kentucky and she preceded him in death July 6, 2001. He married Marlene Reisch and she preceded him in death in 2016. He was co-founder of Kelley and Carpenter Roofing and Sheet Metal Co. retiring in 1992. Wilburn was a former member of St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Florida, Hugh L. Bates Lodge # 686 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati and a Shriner. He was a Kentucky Colonel and three-time past Commander of American Legion Post #138. He is survived by his sons, Steve (Karen) Carpenter, Hamilton, Gary (Lewann) Carpenter, Hamilton, Rick (Vicki) Carpenter, Liberty Township, and Dale (Janet) Carpenter, Columbus, Mississippi;
Marlene's four children, Janet, Joan, Jeff and Jim; eight grandchildren, eleven step grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and ten step great grandchildren. A Funeral Blessing will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Weigel Funeral Home, 980 N. W. Washington Blvd. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be Thursday from12 noon until time of the services. The family wishes to thank the staff at Westover for their loving care.
