William D. "Bill" Gratton, 74, Inverness, died March 15, 2013, surrounded by his family. Bill was born Aug. 22, 1938, in Burlington, Vt. He served our country in the United States Air Force and the Massachusetts Army National Guard. Bill was employed as a supervisor with the Security Management Team of the Department of Corrections, Commonweath of Massachusetts for over 15 years. He was a member of the Franklin (Mass.) Elks Lodge, having served as Exalted Ruler and District Deputy. He also was a member of the Inverness Elks and served as Trustee. Bill was active in the 26th Infantry Division of the Military Police.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 53 years, Patricia Gratton; son, W. Scott Gratton, Inverness; daughter, Lynn A. Colvin and her partner Jeremi Colvin, Fall River, Mass.; brothers, Lawrence (Donna) Gratto, R.I., Thomas Gratto, New York, Timothy (Patricia) Gratto, New York and Albert (Barbara) Olio, Vermont.; sisters, Jeanne Thomas, Alabama, Wanda (David) Wheelock, Vermont and Angelina (William) Nulty, Vermont; four grandchildren, Katelyn, Ashley, Marissa and Summer. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marie DeForge.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2013, Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Beverly Hills. The family will receive friends in visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013, at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, with Elks and Military Honors. Inurnment will take place at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
