William Kerigan Jr. Obituary
William Francis Kerigan Jr., age 83, of Lecanto, Florida, passed away Aug. 30, 2015, at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, Florida.
Born Jan. 13, 1932, in New London, Connecticut, to William F. Kerigan Sr. and Gertrude Elizabeth (Minnix) Kerigan. William moved to Citrus County in 2003 from Weeki Wachee, Florida. He was a retired electrician and a Navy veteran.
William was a member of St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Lecanto, Florida, the Elks Lodge in Spring Hill, VFW in Beverly Hills and the American Legion. He held a pilot's license and was also active in the flying club in Brooksville. He was a very generous man involved in charitable services, including the Daystar program for homeless families. He will be greatly missed!
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by three children: William Kerigan, William Stoddert and Daniel Stoddert; and a brother, Jack Kerigan.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor S. Kerigan of Lecanto, Florida; six children, Cathy Kerigan, Carol Gulyas, Nancy Pulieri, Thomas Stoddert, April Wnuk and Jacqueline Lupone; two sisters, Claire Melish and Joyce Mulligan; and two brothers, Jim Kerigan and Joe Kerigan. There are 24 grandchildren in all, and 21 great-grandchildren.
Private cremation will take place under the direction of Brown Funeral Home and Crematory in Lecanto, Florida. A Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at the St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Lecanto. Burial will follow at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
