The Service of Remembrance for Mr. William N. "Bill" Bowen, age 80, of Citrus Hills, Florida will be held at 12:30 pm, February 28, 2016 at the Hernando Seventh-day Adventist Church located at 1880 N. Trucks Avenue, Hernando, Florida 34442. A Viewing will be held from 12:00 Noon - 12:30 pm at the church. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of memorial donations to the Hernando Seventh-day Adventist Church roof fund.
Bill was born on March 8, 1935 in St. James, Jamaica, son of Percival and Miriam (Graham) Bowen. Bill fell ill on February 2nd and never regained his health. He went to sleep on Sunday, February 14, 2016. Bill migrated to the United States in 1968 and resided in Connecticut for many years. He moved to Citrus Hills, Florida 18 years ago. His hobbies include gardening, watching cricket; a game he loved to play when he was younger, playing dominos and going to nursing homes to sing for the residents on Saturday afternoons. Bill was a very active member of the Hernando Seventh-day Adventist Church. He was a deacon, sang in the choir and was a member of the Sonshine group who goes to visit the sick and shut-in to sing and pray for them among other services rendered. He was a humble and quiet gentleman and will be greatly missed.
Left to mourn his loss are his wife of 48 years, Mavis, daughter, Claudia and son-in-law - Henock, grandsons, Caleb and Christian, 1 sister, 2 brothers, nieces, nephews and a host of other family members and friends. * MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE * Inverness Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes
