Wyndell Alexander, Sr., 64 of Inverness, went home to his Lord on October 9, 2016, under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast. Wyndell was born in Hernando, FL on June 5, 1952 to the late Clyde and Joyce (Bell) Alexander. He attended local schools and received his Bachelor's degree from St. Leo University. Wyndell served our Country in the U.S. Army and retired in 2006 as a Commander with the Citrus County Sheriff's department, after 30 years of service. He was a member of the New Church Without Walls in Hernando.
Left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss are his wife of 38 years, Elizabeth "Diane" Henry Alexander, Inverness; 2 children: Wyndell Alexander, Jr. and his wife Laurie, of Inverness; Kenetra Diane Alexander Dupuis and her husband Corey, of Myrtle Beach, SC; 6 brothers: Clyde Alexander, Jr. and his wife, Claudette of Madison, FL, Clarence Alexander and his wife Haley of Inverness, FL, Rev. Dr. Douglas Alexander, Sr. and his wife, Teresa of Citrus Hills, FL, Tommy Alexander, Sr. of Hernando, FL, Johnell Alexander of Hernando, FL and Kermit Alexander of Hernando, FL; 6 sisters: Joanne Bass of Tampa, FL, Lynda Simmons and husband Melvin of Hernando, FL, Brenda Thomas and husband Wayne of Inverness, FL, Travis Alexander of Madison, FL, Pearline Alexander of Inverness, FL and Stephanie Richardson of Hernando, FL; 4 grandchildren: Alyvia Pouncey, James Pouncey, Isaiah Dupuis, and Kingston Alexander; mother in law, Josephine Henry; brother in law, Tony Henry and wife Susan; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends including his Citrus County Sheriff's department extended family. Friends may call at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home of Inverness, on Thursday from 5-7 PM. Wyndell's life will be remembered and celebrated at a Service of Remembrance from the First Baptist Church of Inverness on Friday, October 14th at 12 Noon, with Rev. Dr. Douglas Alexander, Sr. and Bishop Johnnie White officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
