Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 13, 2011.
Lauren Joy Keefe, precious newborn daughter of Sara Harless Keefe and Geordie Keefe, died Wednesday, Sep. 28, 2011, at Juntendo University Hospital, Shizuoka, Japan.
Lauren was a beautiful baby girl who was loved and greatly anticipated by many. Lauren is survived by her loving parents; grandparents, Joyce and Bill Harless of Crystal River, Fla., Jay and Laurie Keefe of Gloucester; great-grandparents, Norma and Gene Harless of Edgewater, Fla., Seth and Dorothy Walters of Lakeland, Fla., Ruth Burnham of Rockport; and her uncle, Ryan Harless of Crystal River. Lauren Joy is also survived by a large extended family and many friends.
Private funeral services were held on Thursday, Sept. 29, at Susono Funeral Hall in Shizuoka. The family would be pleased to have memorial contributions in Lauren's honor made to First Candle, a national four-star charity whose goal is to have a significant impact on infant mortality and stillbirth and to provide compassionate grief support to those affected by the loss of a baby.
