Margaret A. Kalata, 82, a widow, born June 13, 1931 in North Tarrytown, N.Y., passed away April 12, 2014.

Margaret is survived by a sister, Betty Smith; a niece, Linda Goode; a nephew, Jay Flynn; four great nieces, Melanie DePaul, Kelly Wheelock, Briana Glissendorf, and Kristi Flynn; and two great nephews, Michael Wheelock and Joey Flynn; friend, Dave Fite.
Margaret enjoyed working in the banking Industry as an account representative before retiring 16 years ago in Homosassa. Margaret enjoyed gardening and loved animals. She was a member of Riverhaven Village Community Club and active for many years in her community volunteering with the Citrus County Sheriff's Office, Hospice of Citrus County, and the Homosassa Garden Club prior to her recent illness. She always had a kind word and a smile for everyone. Margaret was loved by all and will truly be missed.
A prayer service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Strickland Funeral Home, Hwy. 19, Crystal River, 352-795-2678. Following the prayer service there will be a gathering of family and friends from noon to 2 p.m., at the Riverhaven Village Community Clubhouse, Homosassa. In lieu of flowers at her memorial, friends are invited to make contributions to Hospice of Citrus County, PO Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464.
