William A. Baumgartner Sr., 76, of Citrus Springs, Fla., died April 15, 2014, at Diamond Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lecanto, under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County. William was born Jan. 23, 1938, in New York, N.Y., son of Anton and Elizabeth Baumgartner. He was a conservation officer for the State of New York. William moved to Citrus County in 1996 from Hampton Bays, N.Y. He was of the Catholic faith and 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Patricia Baumgartner; son, William A. Baumgartner Jr. and wife Amy of Jefferson, S.C.; daughters, Marie Nicholson and husband Donald of Hampton Bays, N.Y., and Regina Sawyers and husband Gary of Princeton Junction, N.J.; sister, Christine Quinlan of Patchogue, N.Y.; grandchildren, Grace and Gary Sawyers; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2014, at Heinz Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mr. Baumgartner will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014, at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Fero Memorial Gardens in Beverly Hills with military honors.
