Virginia A. Pike, 81, of Inverness, Florida, died on May 16, 2014, at her home under the loving care of her family and Hospice of Citrus County.

Virginia was born on May 29, 1932, in Wakefield, Rhode Island, the daughter of Roy and Lyla Greene. She was a Seventh-day Adventist schoolteacher. Virginia and her husband moved to Inverness in 2001 from Orlando, Florida. She was a member of the Eden Gardens Seventh-day Adventist Church in Inverness.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Pauline L. Samscott; brothers, James and David; and sister, Barbara. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Richard L. Pike of Inverness; daughters, Elizabeth Hernley and her husband Donald of Gore, Virginia, and MaryAnn Formolo, of Inverness; brother, Everett Greene of Tennessee; grandchildren, Anthony and Michael Formolo and Christopher Hernley; and great-grandchildren Jasmine Samscott, Ellie Formolo and Lexie Hernley.
Virginia's family will receive friends at the Eden Gardens Seventh-day Adventist Church from 1 p.m. to the hour of service on Wednesday, May 21, 2014. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery at a later date.
