Ruth L. Stromquist, 74, of Inverness, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, Inverness. A native of Sayre, Pennsylvania, she was born Sept. 13, 1939, to James and Lillian (Smith) Potter, one of nine children. She was a retired certified nursing assistant in Citrus County, but in her working life she was also a seamstress, cabinetmaker, daycare owner, and a convenient store employee. Mrs. Stromquist was a longtime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Lecanto and the Red Hat Society.

She moved here 44 years ago from New Port Richey and is survived by her two daughters, Gwen Stromquist (Bob Leone), Inverness and Tonya Gromling (Kenneth Buffa), Beverly Hills; siblings, Ronald, Leonard, Robert, John, Frederick, Gary and Rosemarie; stepmother, Edna Potter; grandchildren, Autumn, Joshua, Kyle, Anthony, James, Dustin, John, Brandi and Tara; great-grandchildren, Summer, Christian, Nina, Hannah and Aaron. Mrs. Stromquist was preceded in death by a son, Frank Albin Stromquist III; a brother, James; and her longtime loving companion, Ed Lamon.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Lecanto. Interment will follow at Fountains Memorial Park, Homosassa.
