James W. Foye
Of Hernando, Florida and Belmont, New Hampshire; 82
James W. Foye, (known lovingly by his family as "Big Boy") 82, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on August 16, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his adored wife of 60 years, Mary (Early)Foye.
James was born on March 15, 1932 in Lowell, Ma. He was the son of the late Walter Foye and Margaret (Sullivan) Foye.
He proudly served his country enlisting in the United Stated Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He then went on to get his Bachelor's Degree in business finance from North Eastern University. Prior to his retirement, James was employed by Sanders Associates as an accountant for 38 years.
In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his beloved family, boating (known as Mayor of Silver Lake) watching golf, and spending time with his many friends from The American Irish Club. In his earlier years James loved playing pool, golfing, music and travelling to Ireland. He also dedicated several years to teenagers in which he was a pioneer of hosting CCD classes in his home in conjunction with running weekend retreats for the teen program "Teens Encounter Christ". He also volunteered as a coach for Centralville Little League Baseball. He was a true gentleman, sweet soul, and an amazing role model for his family.
James is survived by his two daughters, Kathleen Foye of New Hampshire, Colleen Foye of Massachusetts, his son Seamus Foye and his wife Michele of New Hampshire; his twin brothers Joe Foye and his wife Sharon of Oregon and John Foye recently predeceased by his wife Jan; his three grand children Heather Caravona and her husband Rob, Shannon Foye and Jillian Foye , all of New Hampshire. He is also survived by his three great-grandchildren, Kendria Brown, Nicholas Caravona and Gabrielle Caravona; as well as several beloved nieces and nephews.
James was predeceased by his two sisters Francis Labranche and Katherine Kerins.
James' family would like to thank the staff at Franklin VNA, especially Kristen, Mary, and Tobias and most of all James daughter-in-law Michele who took pristine care of James during his illness and final days.
Foye- It being his request, there will be no calling hours. His Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Francis Church, 115 Wheeler Road, Dracut, Ma. 01826, on Saturday August 23rd at 11:00 am. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made payable to The American Irish Club, notated for the scholarship fund in James name; 4342 Homosassa Trail, P.O.
