James P. Melia, 85, of Homosassa, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013. A native of Detroit, Mich., he was born Aug. 21, 1927, to Harry and Delia (Clifford) Melia, one of three children. Mr. Melia was a retired supervisor for 3M Corp. with 38 years of service, most recently with the Springfield, Mo. plant. He moved here in 1990 from Ft. Myers and was a parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Homosassa and a U.S. Air Force veteran of WWII.

Jim is survived by his wife of 59 years, Celia A. Melia of Homosassa; son, Brian M. Melia, Springfield, Mo.; sister, Mary Kaiser, Michigan; and grandchildren, Katie, Abbey and Samantha. Mr. Melia was preceded in death by a son, Glen Melia, in 1989 and a brother, Harry Melia.
