George Harold "Homer G" Cadwell III, 55, a resident of Hernando, Fla., died Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Southport, N.C. A memorial gathering will be 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013, in the Hampton Room at Citrus Hills Golf & Country Club, 505 E. Hartford St. Hernando, FL 34442.

George was born in Worcester County, Mass., March 29, 1958, son of George H. Cadwell Jr. and Ingrid F. Buck. He was a 1976 graduate of Chocowinity High School and served his country in the U.S Navy. Following his military career he worked as a safety engineer in the nuclear field for 30 plus years. Most recently he worked as a supervisor of mechanical maintenance at Progress Energy. George loved his family, his dogs (both animals and when he was referring to a friend), fishing, The Red Sox, and The J-E-T-S.
George is survived by a daughter, Candace E. Cadwell of Hernando; a son, George H. Cadwell IV of Atlanta, Ga.; a grandson, Tyler Ace Renfro of Hernando; his father and step-mother, George H. Cadwell Jr. and Myrna R. Cadwell, both of Blounts Creek; his mother, Ingrid F. Buck of Covington, Ga.; two sisters, Elizabeth Ann Cadwell of Crystal River and Catherine S. Wills and her husband Dr. Gregory Wills of La Grange, Ky.; two brothers, John F. Cadwell of Orange Park and Charles H. Cadwell and his wife Cindy of Raleigh; step-children, Albert, Mike, and Kristen Arcuri; nieces; and nephews, who love and will miss him dearly.
