Randy Lynn Boose, 54, of Crystal River, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, as a result of an automobile accident. He was born May 16, 1959, in St. Petersburg to William and Jane (Smaley) Boose. He came to this area 30 years ago from Pinellas Park. He was currently employed as a mechanic/welder for Duke Energy in Crystal River (formerly Florida Power Corp. and Progress Energy) with 30+ years of service. A member of I.B.E.W. local union #433 Tampa, a member and Deacon of the Red Level Baptist Church in Crystal River. His hobbies were knife making, boating, fishing and scuba diving.

He is survived by two daughters, Ciara Boose of Gainesville and Cherokee Boose of Homestead; a brother, Clayton William Boose (Diana) of Howe, Texas; two grandchildren, Robbie and Capri; a niece, Amber; and a nephew, Dillon.
A memorial service will be conducted at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at the Red Level Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Wilkinson officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m., until service time. The scattering of his cremains in the Gulf of Mexico will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at Sandy Hook and everyone with a boat is invited to attend. Strickland Funeral Home with Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
