James D. Corona Jr., 49, of Homosassa, Fla., passed away Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center. He was born Sept. 20, 1963, in Danbury, Conn., and came here 34 years ago from there. He was a U.S. Army Airborne Ranger veteran and was of the Catholic faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Patricia (Burke) Corona; and his great nephew, Kalyb Fayt Corona. He is survived by his sister, Janice Corona; a brother, Joseph Corona; nephews, Raymond, Joseph and James; a niece, Jessica; his longtime companion, Carmen Hamilton; her children, Kimberly, Russell and Nicole; and grandchildren, Jaylin and Kali.
Graveside military honors will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, conducted by the American Legion Post 155 Honor Guard. Strickland Funeral Home with Crematory assisted the family with arrangements.
