Roscoe M. "Rocky" Miller Jr., 90, of Crystal River, Fla., passed away Monday Nov. 4, 2013, at his home in Crystal River. He was born Oct. 27, 1923, in Jenkins, Ky., to Roscoe M and Stella (Gamble) Miller Sr. He came here 35 years ago from Dayton, Ohio. He was a retired owner and operator of Roscoe's Service Center in Vandalia, Ohio, for 30 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII serving on the U.S. Submarine Gabilan. He served as past commander of the American Legion Post 668 of Vandalia, Ohio, and he enjoyed playing golf at the Plantation and fishing.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Ronald M. Miller and David H. Miller. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Marcelene "Marcie" Miller of Crystal River.
A visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at the Strickland Funeral Home Chapel in Crystal River, followed by military honors provided by the American Legion Post 155 Honor Guard of Crystal River.
