The Guest Book is expired.
Following WWII, Martha and Ralph moved to Delray Beach, Fla., to raise their family. Martha was the consummate supportive wife and mother, volunteering at church, PTA, Blood Bank, Girl and Cub Scouts. Martha and Ralph worked side by side to expose their children to the wonders of travel and exploration.
With children raised, the Priesmeyers moved on to Yancey County, N.C., Orange Park and finally Homosassa, Fla. Throughout her life for her own amusement and satisfaction, she enjoyed word puzzles, needle point, reading, gardening and played a fierce game of bridge. In every community Martha worked tirelessly to improve the local library system, museums and parks. She also donated more than 20 gallons of blood to the local blood banks.
Martha is survived by her sister, Nan Cann; her daughter, Katinka P. (Harmon) Haines; Katinka's daughter, Leah Harmon Bachman with husband John and grandchildren, Carson and Emma. Also surviving are three married sons, Andy with wife Vickie; their daughters, Catherine and Jessica Gibbs with husband Cam and granddaughter, Aubrey; Fred with wife Elaine and their daughter Jill; Jim and wife Diane.
Anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution is encouraged to donate to the Homosassa Library Book Fund.
