Deborah Leigh (nee Morehead), 52, of Venice, FL, formerly of Sunnyvale and Aptos, CA, and Cincinnati, OH, died November 23, 2013. She is predeceased by her husband, Russell M. Porter. Survivors include her grandmother, Margaret Shuler, of Indianapolis and Venice; her parents, William and Judith Morehead, of Venice; her sister, Melissa (Robert) Carpenter, of Baltimore, MD; her fiancé, Art Weber, of Sarasota; her nieces, Alexandria Carpenter and Megan Carpenter; her Aunts and Uncles, Steven/ Sharon Shuler, of Indianapolis, IN., Robert/ Judy Morehead, of Hartsville, SC., Julie/Christopher Bridge, of Phoenix, AZ; and numerous cousins. Deborah graduated from Sycamore High School in Montgomery, OH in 1979 where she was an Honor student, and member of many organizations. She loved horses, won many ribbons and awards showing and riding her horse, Arrowlee. She graduated from Purdue University
in 1983 majoring in Communications. She was a member of Alpha Phi sorority. Upon moving to California to join her husband, she became a very successful businesswoman in high technology sales. She continued her interest in horses and all animals until her passing. Deborah was a cheerful, compassionate, loving soul who was always interested in helping others and sharing a smile. In celebration of her life, please reach out to someone in need and share an act of kindness. A private service was conducted by Fr. Gary Wilde of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, Venice. A Celebration of Life with family and friends will be held in early February. She was an avid scuba diver and a passionate lover of Sunsets. She will be interred in The Eternal Reef, a living reef sanctuary off the coast of FL.
