Donald E., Professor Emeritus College Conservatory of Music University of Cincinnati passed away on January 16, 2013. The family held a private service and will organize a celebratory memorial service at a later date.
Don was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1935. At an early age, he took readily to the keyboard, and his musical destiny was set. An organist and pianist, he found the joy of music compelling, and was fortunate in 1969 to find a teaching position at the University of Cincinnati's College Conservatory of Music. With a Ph.D in Music, he began his long association teaching both Music Education and Related Arts subjects. He retired in 2006, but returned as an adjunct professor to continue teaching Art and Music Through the Ages.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria, three daughters, Andrea (Tom), Lisa and Valerie (Mike), 4 grandchildren, a brother Richard (Rose) Metz from Sumter, South Carolina, brother-in-law Joseph E. Rudmann of Greenvalley, Arizona and many beloved nieces and nephews. Love and support of his family and the joy of art and music have been his passions.
