Paul V. Connolly, 87 of Carmel, IN passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013. He was born in Cincinnati, OH to the late Albert and Grace Connolly. Following the untimely passing of his parents he and his brothers were raised by his aunt, Genevieve "Aunt Gen" Connolly. Paul attended St. Mary's Grade School, Purcell High School, and University of Cincinnati. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII, assigned to the amphibious land based Navy, attached to the Marines Mobile Communications Unit in Okinawa. Following his service to his country Paul had a 44 year career with the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, better known as the A & P Grocery. He was a diehard Cincinnati Reds baseball fan, and was also a fan of the Indianapolis Colts and Cincinnati Bengals. He inspired a love of sports in his daughter, Cathy who also brought auto racing to the family. Paul's surviving family includes, his loving wife of 62 years, Ruth (Bradfish) Connolly; daughter, Catherine Beadle (husband Donald); brother, Albert "Bert" Connolly (wife Dorothy); brother -in-law, Albert Bradfish (wife Rosalyn); sisters-in-law, Dottie Connolly (wife of Walter), Helen Bradfish (wife of August Bradfish); many wonderful nieces, nephews, dear friends , and sweet grandkitties. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by brothers, William (wife Wuanita), Walter, and James (wife Marie) Connolly; and sisters-in-law, Jonada Adams and Louise Reuscher. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m., Sunday, October 6, in Leppert Mortuary Carmel-Chapel, 900 N. Rangeline Road, Carmel, IN 46032. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Monday, October 7 in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 14598 Oakridge Road, Carmel, IN 46032, where friends are invited to gather with the family one hour prior to the Mass. Inurnment will occur at a later date in Arlington Cemetery, Mt. Healthy, Ohio. The Connolly family suggests memorial gifts be made to a .
