David A. beloved husband of Jan Spitzmueller (nee Howard) devoted father of Tony Spitzmueller, Laura (Tim) Knowles, and Drew (Laura) Spitzmueller, dear step father of Michael (Ravonda) Snapp, and Andie (Rich) Chamberlain; loving grandfather of Evan and Raegan Knowles; Ben, Nolan, and Dominic Spitzmueller; Ryan and Alex Chamberlain; Stacey, Joshua and Jacob Snapp. Also survived by many loving cousins and friends. Departed Sunday June 2, 2013 at the age of 65. Friends may call at the Gilligan Funeral Home, 8225 Montgomery Rd. at Galbraith, Friday June 7th from 10:00 AM until funeral services at 1:00 PM. Dave proudly served his country while in the Army as a Military Policeman and again as a Police Officer for Hamilton County. God has taken one more of the " Good Guys " home. Rest in Peace Dave.

It is with sorrow I have learned of Dave's passing. I have many fond memories
of Dave from the times we worked together
during my law enforcement days. He was a true professional who could always bring a smile to the face of those he would meet.

I knew David for about > than thirty years, having first met him as a fellow deputy sheriff. A truly good guy who took his work seriously but maintained his sense of humor. A remarkable person who will be truly missed. David Moonit, ret. HCSO

I was just starting out in police work and Spitz was one of those real cops that had fun in this job and treated us newbies like we were one of the guys. Spitz would always put a smile on your face...

Dave was one of few select Deputies that always there, regardless of politics. I truly liked and admired him as an individual and a police professional. You will be truly missed David. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
