Celeste Genevieve (nee: Johnson), 88, of Lebanon, died Friday December 20, 2013. Born June 21, 1925 in Atlanta, GA to Reese Colbert and Cecile Erlyne (nee: Dominick) Johnson, she was a 1946 graduate of Bessie Tift College, with a degree in English and a minor in music. Later, she attended Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Music and piano performance. Celeste was passionate about her role as the accompanist to the United Methodist Ministers' Wives Choir where she served for 20 years. She was a gifted pianist who touched the lives of many with her music ministry and teaching of adults and children. Celeste is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John W. Armentrout. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She is survived by son, David (Patricia) Armentrout of Liberty Township, OH, three daughters, Cece (Doug) Yeakel of Leadville, CO, Amy (Jeff) Dawson of Troy, OH, and Julie (Kirk) Peterson of Milford, OH. She is also survived by sister, Virginia Duffey of Woodbury, GA, 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Visitation is Friday December 27, 2013 from 10-11 AM at Otterbein Lebanon Chapel with funeral service immediately following. Interment follows at Spring Grove Cemetery.
