ROUDEBUSH

Charles C. lifelong resident of Milford, OH passed away peacefully June 13 2013 as he neared his 99th birthday. He was preceded in death by father William A. and mother Susan Campbell Roudebush of Milford, OH, brother Dr. William Roudebush of Roswell, New Mexico, sister Katherine Roudebush of Middletown, OH and nephew Robert Roudebush of Jacksonville, FL. He is survived by nephews William Roudebush of Denver, CO, Richard Roudebush of San Antonio, TX, Charles and wife Judy Roudebush of Seattle, WA as well as numerous great nieces and nephews. Charles was born in Milford, OH in 1914. After graduating Milford HS in 1932, he attended Miami University graduating with a B.A in Business and Accounting in 1936. After working for Goodyear in various locations and the accounting firm of Haskins & Sells, Charles served in the US Army during World War II in Australia, Papua-New Guinea, and the Philippines. Following his service in the Pacific, Charles continued to serve in the US Army Reserves retiring with the rank of LTC. Charles worked as an accountant for Scripps-Howard traveling extensively throughout the US conducting audits of the firm's newspaper holdings until his retirement. Charles was an active member of Milford First United Methodist Church, member and treasurer of the Greater Milford Historical Society, and avid golfer and treasurer of Terrace Park Country Club. Charles remained loyal to Miami University as a generous contributor to scholarship funds and as an avid sports fan regularly attending Red Hawk football and basketball games. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 26, 2013, preceded by a visitation at 10:30 AM, at Milford First United Methodist Church, 541 Main St, Milford, OH 45150. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charles's memory to the endowment fund at Milford First United Methodist Church.
