Donald Howard Williams died peacefully at his home on May 5, 2013, at the age of 83. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard & Larena (Strohmier) Williams, and survived by his wife of 32 years, Donna (Searcy) Williams. Don is survived by his three children, Donald "Butch" (Linda) Williams, Vivian Mitchum Ferrand (Jean) and Ronald Williams and two step-children, Kris (Jeff) Lutz & Marc (Elizabeth) Schlemmer; also his five grandchildren Brian Donald Williams, Krista Williams, Brian Price Mitchum, Caitlin Mitchum, Chelsea Williams and two step-grandchildren Kayla Lutz & Shelby Lutz. Born September 6, 1929, Don was a lifelong farmer in Whitewater Township, Franklin County, IN. Don lived his entire life in the home where he was born. A graduate of Whitewater High School, Class of 1947, Don was a charter member of the Drewersburg Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Franklin County 4-H Fair Board. Don also served on the Franklin County Area Plan Commission and the Board of Zoning Appeals and the Board of Public Transportation. Don's friends and neighbors appreciated his big heart and respected his love of the land, especially Center View Farms. Don's visitation will be held Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 11:00am followed by his services at 2:00 pm all at Rockdale United Methodist Church, 1195 Johnson Fork Rd., W. Harrison, IN with Rev. Jim Byerly. Burial will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Wesley Chapel Road. Memorials are suggested to Drewersburg Volunteer Fire Dept. or to Don's home church, Rockdale United Methodist Church.
