Elmer W, beloved husband of Pat Osterkamp (nee Burg) for 57 years, dear father of Kathy (Rick) Murphy, Jeff (Jenny) Osterkamp and Kim (Jerry) Lawson, loving grandfather of Nick (Lauren), Michael, Melissa, Chris (Emily), Ryan (Erin), Scott, Sean and Mitch, great-grandfather of Aubrey and Addison, brother of the late Ruth Kaiser, Esther Guethlein and Wilbur Osterkamp. Elmer proudly served as a Cincinnati Fire Fighter for 33 years until his retirement in 1982. He died Monday, January 24, 2011 at the age of 85 years. Visitation at Rebold, Rosenacker & Sexton Funeral Home, 3700 Glenmore Avenue (Cheviot) Thursday 4 - 8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial St. Therese the Little Flower Church (Mt. Airy) Friday at 10 AM. Burial to follow at New St. Joseph Cemetery with military honors. The Osterkamp family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Cincinnati, P.O. Box 633597, Cincinnati, OH 45263. Condolences may also be expressed to the Osterkamp family online at www.rebold.com.

I think of Elmer often , He was funny always had a smile on his face . He could make you laugh with the stories from the fire department days and his days in the durable medical business . Rest in peace my friend

WHAT A LOSS ! I WORKED WITH ELMER FOR 2YEARS AND THEY WERE SOME OF THE BEST YEARS I SPENT IN THE FIRE DEPT. MY HEART GOES OUT TO PAT. ELMER WAS A GREAT GUY & I LOVED HAVING HIM ON MY COMPANY. HE ACTUALLY SAVED MY TAIL AT A FIRE (ACTUALLY BOTH OF US) ITS A LONG STORY & I WON'T GO THERE. WITH DEEPEST REGRETS GOODBYE OLE FRIEND

Elmer was the kind of person that no matter what kind of mood you were in , He always made you laugh . The world has lost a special person. May you rest in peace . My thoughts and prayers are with the Osterkamp family .
